Movie Review and Director Interview: Jenny Ringo and the Monkey's Paw by Chris Regan
"Jenny Ringo and the Monkey's Paw" is a horror comedy by Chris Regan loosely based on the classic short horror story "The Monkey's Paw" by W.W. Jacobs which you can read here
Jenny Ringo lives with her slacker best friend Gavin. While on a Wiccan retreat, he deigns to leave the apartment and comes across the mysterious and musical Magician who gives him a magic monkey's paw that will grant three wishes. Needless to say, Gavin does not wish wisely and quickly regrets wishing for an awesome new best friend named Jeff Awesome. Jeff needs a girlfriend that is as awesome as he is, and Gavin wishes for Candy Gorgeous, and a pizza. Comedic antics ensue as Jenny returns to find Gavin in trouble. It's up to her to save him from the curse of the monkey's paw.
Unfortunately Jeff Awesome and Candy Gorgeous don't want to be erased from existence, and the only way to undo Gavin's wishes is to re-attach the paw to the monkey, which brings it's own troubles by sending the individual to their own personal hell.

Jeremiah Kipp Interview: Crestfallen, Contact and The Sadist
Jeremiah Kipp is a journalist that works for Fangoria and Shock Cinema Magazine. He has directed seven short films, including "The Christmas Party," "The Pod," "Contact" and "Crestfallen." His first feature length film "The Sadist" starring Tom Savini is currently in post-production.
In my humble opinion, he is a fantastic director with a fine eye for detail that allows his works to conjure up strong, deep emotions in the viewer. Not very many directors are able to do that, especially when working with minimalist dialogue, or in the case of "Crestfallen," no dialogue at all.

Claymation Horror! Chainsaw Maid
Japanese claymation short horror film, "Chainsaw Maid" by Takena Nagao (aka TNT) is about a loyal maid that fights off a horde of zombies with a chainsaw. Takena made it as a tribute to 1980s splatter punk horror films. Personally, I love this little gem of claymation horror. It doesn't get any more full of blood, guts and gore than this!

Free Horror Short Movie: #19 Review and Director Interview
#19 is a short horror film directed by Tommy Merry. It's about a cannibal serial killer that "tenderizes" his meat before he butchers it. By meat, I mean victims.
Now, I don't normally care for serial killer, hack and slash type movies. I call them "torture porn"-- which should give you an idea as to how I feel about them. But, this movie was different. The directing style and great acting provokes a lot of strong emotions in the viewer, and you'll find yourself disgusted and yet unable to stop watching.
Nothing is exactly what it seems, and #19 keeps you wondering what is going to happen, right up until the very end.
