Watch the Trailer for Guillermo del Toro's TV series, "The Strain" Now!

FX has adapted "The Strain," a modern vampire apocalypse trilogy written by Chuck Hogan and Guillermo del Toro into a 13 episode television series.

The books are quite good, so naturally, I was really stoked to learn that they were being made into a TV series.

Synopsis From FXnetworks.com:

The Strain is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

With the new interest in horror shows on television, we have been inundated with a few good series, and a whole bunch of bad ones.

I am excited about "The Strain," however, after watching the trailer, I'm not convinced that it's going to be a good series. Especially when we get to see the vampires and the parasites that cause vampirism towards the end of the trailer.

What do you think?
