Cassie's Adventures at Motor City Nightmares

I spent most of Saturday at the Motor City Nightmares horror convention in Novi with my best friend Razor.  We has such a good time, and it was really cool to see familiar faces such as actors from Dawn of the Dead (both the original and the remake), Friday the 13th, The Howling, The Hills Have Eyes, and even The Walking Dead.

There's just something magical about wandering around a convention center and just casually walking past actors that have such an amazing presence on-screen, watching them chatting nonchalantly with friends and colleges, and even playing around a little.

The 'Pacific Rim' Con Footage is Out of This World!

While this is not a horror film per say, I still think that it's important to share because it's a Sci-Fi movie by Guillermo del Toro that features giant monsters that are destroying the world. When mankind is threatened by these behemoths, they create giant robots, called Jaegers, to fight them.

Guillermo del Toro put up footage from the movie on Youtube yesterday, and it is awesome!

Here's what he has to say about it:

Top 13 Tiny Terror Horror Films

There's just something about diminutive monsters that go for the feet first. From the undead Gage in "Pet Sematary" to the tiny creatures from "The Gate," they all strike a chord of terror in us that is so primal that it makes us pull up our feet and sit on them while we watch the movie.

'Dead Island: Riptide' is Now Available for Pre-order

"The characters thought they had escaped the terrors of Banoi and survived the apocalypse on a corrupted paradise. Their fate took a turn for the worse. The Dead Island heroes escaped in a helicopter to the safety of a military ship, but when a furious storm hits and the virus suddenly spreads throughout the crew, the nightmare starts all over again, leaving hope drowning in the rising tides."

Personally, I rather enjoyed "Dead Island," and I am really looking forward to the next installment in the series. The "explosive mix of open-world gameplay, co-op first-person action and RPG elements" really blend together well for one heck of a good time.
