Well, the official "World War Z" trailer is online, and it has left me speechless. But, in the bad way. Watch it and see for yourself.
What I find to be utterly perplexing is the fact that the hordes of people have the same flow of movement as a tidal wave. People, zombies included, just don't flow that way up walls, or down stairwells, or over buses for that matter. They just don't.
The fact that there are three different production companies listed on the trailer doesn't bode well either. This trailer makes me think that "World War Z" is the poster child for what is wrong with horror nowadays; there are too many chefs in the kitchen and they each have their hands in the same pot. Each new writer and director that came along added their own idiosyncrasies to the movie and the end result is a sub-par action thriller instead of a horror film.
The action sequences of the trailer are emblematic of the entire movement to abolish slow burn horror movies in Hollywood, and that's just sad. More high octane action does not a good movie make. And this trailer makes me think that this movie is going to be very, very bad. *sigh*
