I came across a new Slender Man video today made by BlackBox TV on Youtube called "Proxy: A Slender Man Story." It is filmed from the point of view of a Slender Man proxy-- which is a term for his agents; people who he has possessed or compelled to work for him and torment his victims when he is not around.
While it doesn't have any new elements to add to the Slender Man mythos, it is the first video to incorporate fan art, posts from the Something Awful Slender Man threads, sounds from the Slender video game, and pictures and ideas found on the Slender Man wiki and several of the popular Youtube series such as Tribe Twelve, Marble Hornets and EverymanHYBRID. The main characters, Vince and Jess, are named after two characters from EverymanHYBRID.
Check it out!
I like the CG animation of Slender Man; it was very well done. I also liked the fact that they used the Stienmen Woods posts from Something Awful forums, where body parts where found in plastic bags that were shoved into the victim's body.
What's interesting is that this video isn't as subtle as the big three Slender Man series as far as the presentation and appearance of Slender Man. I'm not sure if it's because the director took a more traditional horror film route with making loud sounds for jump scares, or if the nine minute time frame just wasn't enough time for him to weave a subtle tale of horror. This in itself is strange to me, as even the rough-shot found footage of the Youtube series Marble Hornets manages to do so in episodes that are a length of three minutes or less.
Either way, it's interesting that someone decided to make a video from the Slender Man proxy's point of view, as it is one story angle that hasn't really been covered.
