The Halloween horror holiday extravaganza that is night time television in October begins this week with the return of the award winning television series, "The Walking Dead." While season two had a plot that was slower than molasses in winter time, season three has been promised to have fast paced action and events that quickly unfold.
In addition, season three of "The Walking Dead" is supposed to take a darker path than season two, and all the characters will experience brutality and hardship as they attempt to take over the West Central Prison and deal with the tyrannical Governor. There are already rumors that one of the main characters will die this season when taking on the vile Governor.
There are a few characters that fans would love to get rid of, such as the utterly incompetent Lori Grimes or the annoyance that is Carl and his inability to do as he is told.
Executive producer Glen Mazzarra says that he will become "a very, very effective, strong part of the group. He's no longer the young child who needs to be cared for and who needs to be minded. That Carl is gone." Will Carl "man up" and become a child soldier in the war against the walking dead? The picture below indicates that perhaps he will.
In the season 2 finale, Andrea was separated from the group and ran into Michonne. Previews for season three show Andrea and Michonne meeting up with the Governor, while Rick's group heads over to the prison to see if they can secure it and use it as a safe haven from the walkers.
While I'm sure that the prison is going to have some pretty intense battles with walkers, what I'm really worried about is what will happen to them once they run into Merle Dixon.
Will Daryl side with his big brother, or stand up to the sadistic white trash redneck and tell him where to stack his empty beer cans?
