Today an update on the status of the "Silent Hill HD Collection" patch was announced by Konami's Official Silent Hill Facebook Fan Page. It's the first mention by the company of their development of a new patch that is intended to fix the frame rate issues and audio-sync problems currently existing on Silent Hill HD Collection since the Day 1 Patch was released.
Here is the announcement from Konami posted on April 25th at 2:55 pm:
Silent Hill fans, we are currently aware that many users have encountered technical issues while playing Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill Downpour.
Development teams are currently creating online patches for both games, which will fix frame rate issues, as well as the audio-synching in Silent Hill HD Collection and the Auto-Save issues in Silent Hill Downpour. Players have voiced their concerns and solutions to these issues will be fixed and launched in the coming weeks. Patches for Silent Hill Downpour and Silent Hill HD Collection will be made available on both XBOX®Live Arcade and PlayStation®Network.
Thank you for your patience and stay tuned to this page as we update you on this ongoing process.
It looks like this may be the fix that the "Silent Hill HD Collection" needed to have to begin with. I really hope that the new patch works and that they take the time to test it to ensure that it does fix the terrible frame rate and audio-sync problems before releasing it to the public.
